Hey guys I'm back with another movie suggestion post, this time it is an animated movies post, I tried to challenge myself and tried not to include any Disney movies I figured I could do a separate post focusing just on them. Now I am not 100 percent sure that these are not Disney because Disney has bought out lots of the competition so this is just as far as I know these are not Disney.

Our rating scale will change from the horror movies list, and 1 will be good to see once and that’s all and 5 will be I actually own or should be in your collection. So, without further ado let’s get into it.

10. Fern Gully 1992 rated G

Crysta is a fairy who lives in FernGully, a rainforest in Australia, and has never seen a human before. In fact, she is told they are extinct. But when a logging company comes near the rainforest, she sees that they do exist, and even accidentally shrinks one of them: a boy named Zak. Now her size, Zak sees the damage that the company does and helps Crysta to stop not only them, but an evil entity named Hexxus, who feeds off pollution.

This movie is great to explain what pollution is doing to the environment and to promote global awareness. I give this a 3 I have seen it several times but have yet to add it to my collection

9. Anastasia 1997 Rated G

The evil wizard Rasputin puts a hex on the royal Romanovs and young Anastasia disappears when their palace is overrun. Years later, the Grand Duchess offers a reward for Anastasia's return. Two scheming Russians, planning to pawn off a phony, hold auditions and choose an orphan girl with a remarkable resemblance to the missing princess. They bring her to Paris for the reward, not knowing she's the real Anastasia.

This is a decent movie and when I watch it, I get nostalgic for when I was younger, this one I have given a 2 because it is one, I will watch when I notice it on Netflix but I probably won’t buy it myself.

8. Secret of Nimh 1982 Rated G

Mrs. Brisby, a widowed mouse, must move her children out of their home in a field before the local farmer starts plowing. Unable to leave because her son is ill, Mrs. Brisby seeks the help of nearby rats, who have heightened intelligence after being the subjects of scientific experiments. She receives an unexpected gift from the elder rat, Nicodemus. Soon Mrs. Brisby is caught in a conflict among the rats, jeopardizing her mission to save her family.

This movie I remember crying and getting very emotional through it and cheering for the little mice. But again, I would give this a 3 because I have seen this a bunch of time but yet to add it to my collection.

7. Shrek 2001 Rated PG

Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad. Determined to save their home -- not to mention his -- Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad and sets out to rescue Princess Fiona to be Farquaad's bride. Rescuing the Princess may be small compared to her deep, dark secret.

I love the crude humor and fun in this movie, I feel this was focused on the Adult customers as well as the littles that go to see it, so be warned that some of the jokes in this could be inappropriate for really young kids. I have given this a 5 I own this and all the sequels to my collection

6. An American Tale 1986 Rated G

A young mouse named Fievel Mousekewitz and his family emigrate from Russia to the United States by boat after their home is destroyed by cats. During the trip, a fierce storm throws Fievel from the ship, and he loses contact with his family. Luckily, he manages to sail to New York in a bottle. There, Irish mouse Bridget, an Italian mouse named Tony and a kindly cat named Tiger help Fievel search for his loved ones.

I love this movie; I feel this is a classic that can be enjoyed by many. I have shared this with my kids and couldn’t wait till they were old enough to sit through it. I give this a 4 I do own this myself.

5. Rio 2011 Rated G

Captured by smugglers when he was just a hatchling, a macaw named Blu never learned to fly and lives a happily domesticated life in Minnesota with his human friend, Linda. Blu is thought to be the last of his kind, but when word comes that Jewel, a lone female, lives in Rio de Janeiro, Blu and Linda go to meet her. Animal smugglers kidnap Blu and Jewel, but the pair soon escape and begin a perilous adventure back to freedom -- and Linda.

This movie is really cute it describes how a relationship with our pets can be super important, my kids have both loved this movie in fact this one had to go into hiding for a while because my kids would watch it sometimes 3 and 4 time a day. I do like this movie but not many times in a row. I give this a 4 I do own this and the second one, and have given it to my nephews and niece for Christmas.

4. Despicable me 2010 Rated PG

A man who delights in all things wicked, supervillain Gru hatches a plan to steal the moon. Surrounded by an army of little yellow minions and his impenetrable arsenal of weapons and war machines, Gru makes ready to vanquish all who stand in his way. But nothing in his calculations and groundwork has prepared him for his greatest challenge: three adorable orphan girls who want to make him their dad.

This is again another movie that I feel was geared toward adults as well as kids and everyone can enjoy it, I give this movie a 4 I have this and the second one in my current collection I will eventually add the 3rd one as well. I mean really who doesn’t love the minions

3. Happy Feet 2006 Rated PG

Son of Memphis and Norma, little sweet penguin Mumble has a big problem: he can't sing a single note. In a world where everyone needs a heart song to attract a soul mate, Mumble feels he doesn't belong there. Our hero Mumble is the worst singer in the world, but he can tap dance brilliantly

This movie is super cute, my daughter loved this movie, I think its very cute for young kids, it has music and dancing. However, after the 3rd or 4th time it can be annoying to adults. I give this a 5 I do own it and have seen it several times. I do want to say that this does have a couple of disturbing scenes that may be a little bit much for very young kids.

2. Ice Age 2002 Rated PG

Twenty-thousand years ago, Earth is a wondrous, prehistoric world filled with great danger, not the least of which is the beginning of the Ice Age. To avoid a really bad frostbite, the planet's majestic creatures - and a few small, slothful ones - begin migrating south. The story revolves around sub-zero heroes: a woolly mammoth, a saber-toothed tiger, a sloth and a prehistoric combination of a squirrel and rat, known as Scrat.

This is a great movie for children, I liked this movie and there are some jokes that are geared towards adults which makes this entertaining for all. I give this one a 5 I own it and have seen it many times and will probably see it many more. This one is also a series of 5 full length films and several shorts starring Sid the sloth and Scrat. With one more full length being released sometime in 2019

1. How to train your dragon 2010 Rated PG

Hiccup is a Norse teenager from the island of Berk, where fighting dragons is a way of life. His progressive views and weird sense of humor make him a misfit, despite the fact that his father is chief of the clan. Tossed into dragon-fighting school, he endeavors to prove himself as a true Viking, but when he befriends an injured dragon, he names Toothless, he has the chance to plot a new course for his people's future.

This is an amazing story; it shows how things don’t always have to be the same as what everyone thinks and if you look outside the box things can be better. And to not judge a book by its cover, and things and dragons are not always what they seem. I give this a 5. I have seen this many time and will continue to see them. There are currently 3 full length movies in this series and they are all equally great. Several cartoons have spun off of this film as well.

I want to make a disclaimer that the descriptions of these movies came from the movies themselves and are not my words but I wanted to have the most accurate description of them so thank you google.

Thanks for stopping by and ill see you next time. Thanks for your support.
