Hey all I am sorry I have been gone for a few days, but my family and I got sick and I have been trying to get feeling better. I am feeling better and I will be getting back on schedule with the wilderness series and my beauty products reviews, but in the meantime, here is my top 10 TV shows I would recommend.

There will be no rating scale this time due to most of these shows are not really kid friendly and I will address kid friendly shows and vintages shows in another post. These are not in any particular order; they are just my favorite tv shows most of which I have watched the series more than once. Special thanks to Google search for the tv show descriptions.

1. The walking dead- Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, this gritty drama portrays life in the months and years that follow a zombie apocalypse. Led by former police officer Rick Grimes, his family and a group of other survivors find themselves constantly on the move in search of a safe and secure home. But the pressure each day to stay alive sends many in the group to the deepest depths of human cruelty, and they soon discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be more deadly than the zombies walking among them.

There are 9 seasons of the walking dead so far, I think there will be at least 1 more in the works but not 100% on that. This is a great zombie tv show. If your fan of the night of the living dead your going to love this. However, this is a very gory Tv show. It has scenes depicting the violence that the “walkers” can do to a person and what a person can do to do them. This is also a tv show where it is hard not to get attached to the characters and get sucked into the storyline. It makes you wonder “what would you do if you woke up to the world being nothing like you remembered it and had to fight for your life at every turn”

2. American Horror Story- "American Horror Story" was created by the co-creators of "Glee," but the shows have little in common besides that. The show revolves around the Harmons, a family of three, who move from Boston to Los Angeles in order to reconcile past anguish. What the Harmons don't know is that the house they've moved into is haunted. But it's not haunted by Casperesque friendly ghosts -- it's haunted by demonic creatures. The creatures have a history of not only spooking the house's residents but also devouring them. After living in this house, family patriarch and psychiatrist, Ben, may need a shrink of his own.

There are 8 seasons of AHS with the 9th season being worked on and a 10th season in the works. This tv show is unique in the fact that each season has a theme and is named accordingly: season 1- the murder house, Season 2- the asylum, Season 3- the coven, season 4- freak show, Season 5- Hotel, Season 6- Roanoke, Season 7- the cult, Season 8- Apocalypse and the 9th season looks as though it is called 1984. One of the coolest things I have found about this show is that each season is based on urban legends in America and I love looking them up and reading about the true stories that have inspired the season. I will in a future post go season by season and discuss some of the real-life stories that could be the inspiration for them. This too has scenes that may be too graphic for sensitive viewers. This is currently on Netflix the bad part is you have to wait for the next season to be added so I am only on season 7 and waiting for 8 to be added to Netflix.

3. Law and order SVU- The detectives that are part of the NYPD's Special Victims Unit investigate crimes of sexual nature. While the focus of the other shows in the `Law & Order' franchise largely deal with murder cases, the SVU detectives frequently deal with crimes, such as rapes, in which the victim survives and assists authorities in the investigation. The series features a cast of veteran actors, including Mariska Hargitay, Richard Belzer, Dann Florek and, after the first season, rapper Ice-T. Occasional crossover episodes feature detectives from other series in the `Law & Order' franchise.

There are currently 20 seasons and as far as I can tell no end in sight. I love this show because it shows the justice system in action and it shows how we all wish that the system would be where the victim gets justice. This does have content that is often sexual in nature due to the offenses being sexual related but for the most part its not a vary graphic tv show. This is currently shown on Hulu and Netflix, however Netflix updates with the new episodes faster.

4. CSI- A dedicated group of forensic investigators at the Las Vegas Crime Lab works to solve often-grisly crimes in Sin City. Heading up the graveyard shift (an appropriate term in this case) is supervisor D.B. Russell, a "Left Coast" Sherlock Holmes who devours crime novels. Members of Russell's team include Julie Finlay, Nick Stokes, Sara Sidle (the team's moral compass), Greg Sanders and Morgan Brody. The investigative team works closely with Capt. Jim Brass -- a seasoned detective who is a protector of CSI -- Dr. Al Robbins -- medical examiner -- and quirky lab technician David Hodges. Previous leaders of the group include Gil Grissom and Dr. Ray Langston.

There are 15 seasons of this show, this show has ended. I prefer this show when the character Gil Grisom is there but overall, I have watched these 2 times currently. I love watching how the crimes are solved and granted I know things are done way faster than in reality but it is cool to see how the bad guy is caught. This does focus on crime in Las Vegas so some blood id shown but not too bad. This is currently on Hulu.

5. Supernatural-This haunting series follows the thrilling yet terrifying journeys of Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers who face an increasingly sinister landscape as they hunt monsters. After losing their mother to a supernatural force, the brothers were raised by their father as soldiers who track mysterious and demonic creatures. Violent memories and relationship-threatening secrets add additional burdens on Sam and Dean as they investigate all things that go bump in the night. As old tricks and tools are rendered useless and friends betray them, the brothers must rely on each other as they encounter new enemies.

There are currently 14 seasons of this show with the 15th season in the works, it was announced on facebook that Season 15 will be the final season. This is a great Tv show its horror themed and shows that there is someone who can hunt what goes bump in the night. This has been my long time favorite and of course if you scare easily this may not be for you. Since this focuses on such things as demons and ghosts and other supernatural hence the name. You can’t help but root for the Winchesters and hope that they concur all.

6. Criminal Minds- Criminal Minds is an American police procedural crime drama television series created and produced by Jeff Davis. It premiered on September 22, 2005, and has run on CBS. It tells the story of a group of behavioral profilers who work for the FBI as members of its Behavioral Analysis Unit

There are currently 14 seasons with the 15th in the works and it has been stated that the 15th season will be the series last. This is similar to the CSI and NCIS. But its from the FBIs perspective. This has been a crazy show with episodes that can leave you saying WT!! I have often wondered where this show got the writers due to the insane stories that they create on here. But I have been hooked on this show. Again, this show may not be good for sensitive viewers.

7. Once upon a time- "Once Upon a Time" tells the story of a new world, one in which fairy-tale legends and modern life collide. Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) is comfortable in her life as a bail bonds collector when Henry -- the child she gave up a decade earlier -- suddenly shows up. He is convinced that she is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, who sent her away before the Evil Queen could cast a spell, freezing the fairytale world in time and bringing them to present-day Storybrooke, Maine. After taking Henry home, Emma decides to stay in the town to keep an eye on him, and she discovers he may not be wrong after all.

There are currently 7 seasons and has ended. This is such a cool show going from the fairy tale story perspective. It’s got action and adventure and fairy tale people. What’s not to like. The plot is definitely not an easy one to follow and you can’t miss any episodes or you will be confused. This is currently streaming on Netflix and I enjoy watching them with my daughter. This I feel is appropriate for most people.

8. The Goldbergs- In the 1980s, geeky 11-year-old Adam uses a video camera to document his family's crazy life. His mother, Beverly, is overprotective and lacks boundaries, while his dad has a hot temper and finds it difficult to parent without screaming. Rounding out the clan are Adam's terrifying sister, Erica, 17; his older brother, Barry, who has middle-child syndrome; and the family's beloved grandfather, Al `Pops' Solomon. Pops is responsible for wild antics, including offering drinks to Barry and teaching Adam about the ways of love - which create more chaos in an already high-strung family.

There are 6 seasons of this series and 7 is being talked about. This is a funny show and reminds me of all the things I loved about growing up in the 80’s. This show is very easy to get attached to the characters. They are loveable and well done. This is currently on Netflix. And if you have ever lived through the 80’s or just wondered what it was like this is the show to watch. But be warned there can be a little language that could offend certain people.

9. NCIS- Naval Criminal Investigative Service Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs leads a group of colorful personalities in investigating crimes -- ranging from murder and espionage to terrorism -- that have evidence connected to Navy and Marine Corps personnel. The team includes MIT graduate Timothy McGee, Ellie Bishop, who specializes in international threat assessment, charismatic and unpredictable Nick Torres, and forensic psychologist Jack Sloane. Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard brings his vast experience in forensics into play to help solve cases.

There are 16 seasons of this series with 17 in the works and no signs of this ending anytime soon. This show is a great detective show the characters are well done and are relatable. I enjoy watching this one with my husband. This one could be bad for very sensitive viewers as it does have murders that need to be solved. This is currently streaming on Netflix.

10. Penny Dreadful- Many people are familiar with classic literary characters like Dr. Frankenstein and Dorian Gray. "Penny Dreadful" brings those and other characters into a new light by exploring their origin stories in this psychological thriller that takes place in the dark corners of Victorian London. Sir Malcolm is an explorer who has lost his daughter to the city's creatures, and he will do whatever is needed to get her back and to right past wrongs. His accomplice, seductive clairvoyant Vanessa Ives, recruits charming American Ethan Chandler to help locate Sir Malcolm's daughter and slay some monsters. Oscar-winner Sam Mendes ("American Beauty") is one of the series' executive producers

Penny dreadful had only 3 seasons however if you love the classic horror stories your going to love this series, it is available on Netflix and is definitely an attention grabber. Be aware that the language is old English and it does have some graphic scenes that may be disturbing for sensitive viewers.

Thanks so letting me share my top ten picks for the best tv shows, let me know if you watch any of these and what you think. Come back for the next post.
