Hi guys todays post is a review of one of my subscription boxes that I receive, this one is called Birchbox and it is 10 dollars a month and gives you 4 -5 sample size products a month. This is different from the boxy charm because it is just samples. I however have liked getting the samples because if it’s a product that I am not fond of I don’t have that much to use. I will state if I kept the product or is, I passed it along. Just because I have limited space and need to make room for each item. I have been a subscriber to Birchbox for about 5 years now. I feel this is a good way to try out products that 1- I would not think to buy for myself and 2- I could not afford to buy. To get started with Birchbox you fill out a beauty quiz letting them know what you like and what you don’t like, then they send you the products according to what you put. This is the box for April and what I got in my box. Also, I need to make a disclaimer I have paid for these boxes with my own money.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray – full size is $46.00
This multitasking hair spray is a dry shampoo that also gives hair texture, which is especially great for extending newly styled or second-day hair. Plus, the Mediterranean-inspired scent in the brand's entire line is amazing.
*Ok guys to kick off this post is this texturizing spray; I have received a few products from this brand. I like dry shampoos and this is a good dry shampoo, I’m not sure about the texture aspect of this I didn’t notice any difference in my hair except that it looked less greasy. So, I can’t say much about the texturing because like I said I didn’t see anything different but then I am not sure what I should have been looking for. But I would recommend this brand for the dry shampoo its is great. However, with that being said I probably would not buy a full size due to the cost. I did not find it that remarkable to spend 46.00 on it.
Number 4™ Lumiere d'hiver Reconstructing Masque- full size is $58.00
Situation: Your hair is dry and brittle, and you're still a few weeks away from a trim. Solution: This super-hydrating restorative treatment. Soy protein works to reconstruct and strengthen hair while natural conditioners like shea butter, jojoba seed oil, and sunflower oil nourish and moisturize—leaving our hair soft, shiny, and in far better shape than it was before.
*Ok this masque is ok; however, I really did not get a big enough sample to really test it out, I have really long hair I mean past my butt long and this just didn’t give me enough to determine what I thought. However, I will not be paying 58.00 dollars to try it out more, that in my opinion is a ridiculous amount to spend on a hair masque, when there are several less expensive options out there that I know I love.
Number 4™ Lumiere d’hiver Clarifying Shampoo - 8.5 oz.- Full size is $32.00
At the end of a long day we could all use a fresh start—and the same goes for our hair. When product buildup and styling stress leave strands feeling and looking dull, this clarifying shampoo, subtly scented with white freesia, golden amber, and warm musk, gently cleanses without stripping moisture or color. Black currant and soy restore vibrancy, acai berry and vitamin C deliver youth-boosting antioxidants, oolong tea and Irish moss defend against environmental damage, and lemongrass and oatmeal gently cleanse and purify. This shampoo is also vegan-friendly and free from sulfate/sodium chloride and parabens.
*This product is a Meh product to me, it did what it said it cleaned my hair, but it had the same issue as the masque, I did not get enough product to try this out more than once,
Air Repair Super Hydrating Eye Cream- Full size is $24.50
Travel lets us see the world with fresh eyes—but after a long flight, “fresh” isn’t quite the word we’d use. (“Puffy” springs to mind.) Thankfully, this potent cream reduces puffiness, hydrates delicate undereye skin, and even diminishes fine lines. Plus, it keeps working to protect and moisturize skin for hours, so we’re bright-eyed when we deplane. And as great as it is for travel, we won’t be leaving it in our suitcase: It soothes and depuffs anytime we could have used an extra hour of shut-eye.
*this was a nice cream however due to my oily skin it was a little too moisturizing for my face and made my under eyes feel greasy. However, I have only tried this product 2 times so I will try a few more times just to see if maybe I am using it wrong, I will try it before bed to see if it will work as a night cream and see if that will help. I can not say if I would buy this or not until I try it a few more times.
Marcelle City Multi-Protection Tinted Cream SPF 25- full size is $22.00
Bright lights, big city—damaged skin? Not with this multitasking formula, which serves as your moisturizer, skin tint, and primer. It protects against pollution and harmful UV rays (both of which can accelerate skin aging) with a combination of antioxidants, green tea, aloe, and chamomile. Plus, it offers hydration, boosts radiance, and can even tighten pores—so basically everything you could possibly want for a healthy, clear complexion. It’ll become your new skincare MVP.
*This is probably my favorite product out of this box this month, I was not sure exactly haw to wear it at first so I put it on and then put my foundation over it because it said it was a primer, and I didn’t really like it that way because I thought it looked cakey, However the last 3 times I have worn this I wore it on its own and I LOVED it that way it gave just a hint of color but it made my skin look flawless. I felt like I looked amazing and I love that it has an SPF in it so that there is no need to add more steps to my routine. I will probably buy the full size just for the convenience of this product.
Lise Watier Dramatique Intense 3D Volume Mascara- Full size is $25.00
The unique shape of this mascara's wand perfectly coats each lash with its pigmented color in just one stroke. Rich in ceramides, it makes lashes feel lustrous as the ultrablack hue creates a defined look. It also delivers intense volume, length, and curl for dimensional fringe. Together, both the nourishing formula and wavy bristles give you fuller-looking lashes that you'll love to bat.
*this was a very black mascara, I have only tried it once due to testing out other mascaras so in an update I will let you know if I really like this or not, I did like that it applied well. But more testing is needed to really say if I truly liked it or not.
OUAI Volume Spray - Travel-Size- this is $12.00
This volumizing hair spray lifts roots and creates instant all-over volume without added weight. Plus, each of the brand's products come in an addictive hibiscus scent.
*first of all, I have to say I like the scent of this product. I have only used this once so I will need to use more to see if I really like this product. But so far it seems to do what the description said it does.
Thanks guys for stopping by and taking the time to read see you next time.
Thanks to Birchbox for the product descriptions
