Hey guys today's topic is DIY makeup remover. I started looking for a good remover for two reasons, one I ran out of the current one I was using and went to repurchase it and discovered it was extremely expensive. I used one from Mary Kay. I couldn't justify the expense to buy something I wouldn't be using all that often.
Reason number two is that my daughter is now a teenager and has started wearing makeup and she has sensitive skin and eczema and when she uses certain products she will end up with a huge red rash all across her face. Even products that are marked safe for sensitive skin will cause a flare up for her.
I needed something that worked well and was super safe for skin. I wear water proof mascara most often and that just doesn't come off with just water and soap. not to mention it stings quite terribly. So with all these factors on my mind I set out to look for a remover that would work and be budget friendly. i scoured the internet and I came across a really easy recipe. It literally had 3 ingredients: water, tear free baby shampoo, and baby oil. Sounds easy right? well I thought if it was that simple it could't possible work.
Well I had all the ingredients around my house, so I mixed it up and tried it out. I was pleasantly surprised that my eye makeup melted away with barely any rubbing and everything else came off even easier.
Here is what you do..... First pour a cup of baby shampoo into a bottle I just reused the bottle I already had from the remover I used before. Add 1/4 cup baby oil. Then add water to fill up the bottle. Close the lid and shake the bottle for 30 seconds to mix everything up. Apply to a cotton round to use. Remember to shake before each use, due to the ingredients separating.
If you prefer makeup remover pads you can use this solution to make those as well just add makeup rounds to a mason jar and mix up the solution and pour into the jar coating the rounds and ensuring they get saturated, then seal well and shake before opening. This is an amazing remover as I said above. All the products used can be found at the dollartree and cost 2 dollars and it make a ton of product. I feel that this was a huge cost savings. Don't get me wrong I like Mary Kay but we all have to admit that their products can be a little pricey.
Thanks for stopping by guys. Let me know if you try this out and how well you liked it. and I will see you next time.
